It's been a while since I picked up a pencil to sketch, and even longer since I updated my blog. Life - stressful, heartbreaking, head-aching life - took over and packed up my creativity into a little box labelled 'for happier times' and left it to gather dust high up on the methodical shelf.
Well, I'm pleased to announce that the sketcher is back!

It took a friend's birthday to revive my sketching - a friend who didn't want any fuss made of her 'special day'. How to show someone you care without making a fuss? A handmade card. I have made cards since I stopped blogging, but this one needed to be extra special. I was very pleased with the result - a portrait of my friend and her dog.
The joy this initial sketch gave me was enough to get me going again
Last week - on the first official day of the school holidays - I began a new project: A Sketch A Day for the Summer.

And in turn, that prompted me to revisit the blog! So here we are, sketching again, blogging again (and absolutely no mention of Covid 19!)
